About Monet

MONET is a 9 year old, 5.4 pound female Maltese LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Fenced yard, love and attention. HIGHLIGHTS: Very loving girl! Monet is a pretty little girl who was surrendered by her owner. She might look familiar to some of you, she was adopted several months ago but recently returned because she flat refuses to walk on a leash- and they have no fenced yard. Other than her dislike of walking in a leash, Monet is as sweet and lovable as can be! She is very affectionate and happily gives and receives kisses. She loves to snuggle and cuddle with her person. At night she sleeps in her own little bed, but she loves to get in bed with her foster mom in the morning. If given the opportunity she would happily snuggle with her person in the big bed. Monet is very friendly and open to almost anything. She is good with other small dogs and enjoys their company. She plays with them and has no problem sharing her bed, toys, or person. Monet doesn't play with toys a lot, but she goes and gets one or two now and again. She has not been around kids since we have had her, but we imagine she would be fine with older kids. She has not been around cats. Monet loves running and playing in her fenced in yard with a fur buddy and she would be happiest with a small doggy friend in her home. She does very well with potty training. She uses a potty pad if her foster mom doesn't notice it is time to go out, but for the most part she waits and goes outside. Monet is a smart little lady! Her foster mom says she understands 'I'll be right back' and seems to know 'I'm going shopping' ...that means it will be a while before her foster mom gets back, so she goes and gets in her bed. She is working on 'stay' and 'come in' and she's doing quite well! She will make someone a very loving companion! Monet has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, had a dental, is fecal and heartworm tested, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Applicants should live within a 1-2 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *We review multiple applications for each dog and pick the best fit.
