About Rowdy

Meet Rowdy a beautiful 2 year old larger Mini / Smaller standard Aussie at around 35 - 40 pounds. Rowdy is ready to find his special person to live his best life with. Rowdy is house trained, crate trained and walks well on leash. Rowdy does well with other dogs. Rowdy is super cuddly to his person in the home. Rowdy can be unsure of new people but has made great improvements in his comfort level and after a few minutes of meeting them he is allowing pets. He seems to do better with women but will allow men if given time. Rowdy and his foster mom have been working hard to allow Rowdy to have new experiences and become more comfortable as he learns to meet new people and go to new places. Rowdy has done well at the groomer. We recommend an adopter be within the OKC area or be within reasonable driving distance to allow more than one meet prior to adoption if needed. Rowdy's trainer can give tips on how to help Rowdy be comfortable in new settings and with new people. Herding breed experience or adopters who are active and can give him the physical and mental stimulation he needs is important as he's very smart. Rowdy seems to do best in a calmer environment so we don't recommend small really active children or grandchildren but think he could do well with older children 12 and older. This also means Rowdy should not be around small animals like chickens, bunnies and cats. Rowdy is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative and on prevention.
