About Sassy

SASSY is a 3 year old, 7.9 pound Yorkie mix LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Time with her family and lots of blankies! HIGHLIGHTS: Sweet and easygoing lap dog. Sweet Sassy was surrendered to us when her mom passed away. She is gentle and easy going and has the most adorable face that looks like a little fox. Sassy is an affectionate girl who loves to cuddle with her person and give kisses. She is very much a lap dog, especially if there's a blanket involved! She likes snuggling up under the covers for a movie, but you might have to drag her out once the movie is finished! One of her favorite things is to snuggle up underneath the blanket and make a little burrow. Sassy is pretty chill most of the time with short bursts of energy. She gets especially excited when her people come home from an errand or work. Then she is a total wiggle butt. She loves showing excitement by wagging her butt! She is friendly and outgoing and follows her person wherever they go. She might be a little timid at first meeting someone new, but it doesn't take her long to warm up. Sassy generally gets along well with other small dogs but when she is all burrowed up in her blanket and another dog tries to get in her space she can be grumpy. She also isn't a fan of another dog who steals her chew bone! Sassy would love to have all of the attention for herself but she wouldn't mind having a small fur sibling around either. She hasn't ever met a dog that she doesn't like, although she doesn't play with other dogs. We have not had her around cats and don't recommend a home with kids. Sassy is doing well with her potty training, especially when she is taken out often. She is not good at letting someone know she needs to go out though. She is leash trained and loves to go for walks. She can be a barker if she wants something. Sassy does not like being left alone and does voice her displeasure initially when her family leaves. She is going to be best in a home where she has someone around most of the time. At night she likes to snuggle up with her family in the big bed. She has some dry skin, and is getting a little coconut oil in her food to help with that. Sassy has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Applicants should live within a 1-2 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. Most others we will consider within a 5-hour drive. We do not ship or transport our dogs. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *We review multiple applications for each dog and pick the best fit.
