Bow Wow, everyone! I'm Wallie, a sweet, friendly, eager-to-please, super-playful, and pleasantly goofy chestnut 64-pound American Staffordshire Terrier mix fella with white tuxedo markings who was born about November 2018. I'm easy to please because I get along great with all ages of humans, including kids, as well as the two resident dogs in my foster home. 'AmStaffs' are renowned for being happy, outgoing, good-natured, stable, and confident dogs. We're usually game for anything and lovable 'personality dogs' around the house. AmStaffs like mental and physical challenges. I have quite a dramatic rescue story. I had been dumped in a dog park and had no choice except to live paw-to-mouth and roam the streets as a stray. One morning on his way to work, my future rescuer happened to drive by as a car almost hit me on a very busy highway. Our eyes locked, and I shot him a desperate 'help me' look. Consequently he knew he could not just drive past me without helping me, so he got me into his car and took me home with him. I luxuriate in the love and attention that my foster family showers on me. True confessions however --- I have a few carryovers from my dangerous life on the streets. First, I'm afraid of thunderstorms and will hide in the laundry room when I hear thunder or see lightning. Second, I tested positive for heartworms. But no worries! I've already begun heartworm treatment, and my foster family is picking up the bill. Arrange to meet me today! I'm all ready for us to play a little catch in your back yard! Although I'm very animal-friendly, I won't object if I'm an only 'pet-child' because it just means that I'll receive your undivided love and attention. Wallie is updated on shots, neutered, dewormed, and microchipped. His adoption fee is $250 (includes heartworm treatment) for dogs older than 9 months. An application must be filled out prior to adoption.
