About Amelia

Amelia (Mia) is a very gentle and well behaved little lady. Once past the hurdle of her natural shyness with people who are new to her, Mia is friendly and extremely affectionate. She loves belly rubs, and when being petted while right-side-up will often roll onto her back with her front paws in the air to show she wants a rub! Her silky-soft fur almost demands touching and petting, and Mia loves it. In fact, if you stop petting her before she wants you to, she'll often nudge your hand upward with her snout to encourage you to keep going! Mia may be initially shy and skittish so she will need some patience. It took her about three months to really come out of her shell and become comfortable and confident as part of our household. While Mia is mostly housebroken, she does still need attention paid to make sure she is let out of the house on a timely basis to relieve herself. She will use training pads in the house. Amelia loves to lay in the sun so a yard is mandatory for her. She would also like to sleep in bed with you at night. Amelia would prefer a quiet household without much food traffic and no small children. It would be great if there is another calm dog in the household already since Mia loves to cuddle up to her doggy friends whenever possible. Mia is about 9 years old, she weighs 9 lbs., she is spayed, microchipped and up to date on all her shots. We request an application, in person meet and greet, and a home check. Adoptions are not done on a first come first serve basis; it is always the best match for the dog. We do not ship out of state; we do not transport.
