PLEASE READ THE ENTIRE BIO ON THIS DOG BEFORE REQUESTING AN APPLICATION. MANY OF OUR DOGS HAVE STRICT REQUIREMENTS FOR THEIR ADOPTION. 1. No young children 3-year-old male Miniature Poodle, about 16 pounds. Meet Bourdain! He came to Smidget Rescue as a stray in really rough shape! He is a fun little dog who wants to please. Bourdain is very much a people dog. He wants to be the one and only pet in your life. If you pet, hold, or allow another dog to approach, Bourdain will growl and possibly snap at them. Both his fur and personality are like Velcro and he is a world class cuddle bug. Unfortunately, he has never been taught obedience or manners, so an adopter must be willing and able to take him to obedience classes. Bourdain is both smart and food motivated; however, he dislikes being picked up and will warn you with a warning snap. He is not a match for a home with children younger than teenagers. Bourdain is both fast and agile, despite a front paw that appears to have been broken at one point and never treated. He will need a bootie to protect the foot. He may eventually need surgical correction, but at this time it, is not warranted. To request an adoption application, email [email protected] Adoption contract and fee applies. Smidget Rescue is not a shelter, and dogs cannot be seen at the Rescue location. All dogs are fostered throughout the Puget Sound area and are brought to the events where they can be met by prospective adopters. Puppies are adopted with a refundable spay/neuter deposit (in addition to the adoption fee) and adopters are required to get their puppy to our vet for their pre-scheduled spay-neuter appointments. You must live within a three-hour radius of Seattle, WA, (such as Portland, Vancouver B.C., etc.), so we can arrange for a home visit. If your home seems like a great fit for the dog you would like to adopt, you must then drive to meet the dog at one of our weekend events or at the fosters home.
