Hi! My name is Louis! My rescue story begins just 5 days ago when my new foster mom went with a friend to pick up a puppy in rural Kansas. they drove 2 hours to meet one of my siblings and when they got there there were left speechless. in the back yard sat a rusty old 10x10 chain lank enclose that was entirely over grown with tall weeds and vines covered in thorns. the smell of feces and urine hit my foster moms nose like a ton of bricks, burning it like it had been ours. we did not have a dog house to get out of the rain and all we had to drink from was a broken baby pool filled with slime green water! yuck! My new rescuers felt sick to their stomach at the sight, looking helplessly down at the 8 of us. all covered in our own feces and urine as well as ticks from head to toe. one of my sisters was suffering a broken tail that had been left untreated. By some miracle, my new mom was able to convince my owner to let us go with with my rescuers and get the medical attention we so desperately needed. My new foster mom stayed up til midnight giving us a bath and removing as many ticks as possible, and we went to the vet the next day! the vet said we are only abut 6 weeks old, my owner told me I was already 10 weeks old! we are not quite ready for new homes just yet, but we will be very soon and id love to do a meet and greet! I'm so excited to start on my new adventure, won't you help me get there? We are Parvo NEGATIVE! we are currently being treated for fleas and ticks as well as being dewormed. we are getting our first shots very very soon and my foster mom is even looking into getting us microchipped! my momma was a blue heeler. I'm unsure of who my dad is but the only other dog on the property was a black tri Aussie that looks a lot like me for sure! My foster mom has started us on crate training to help us succeed later in life. we don't like it so far but are getting used to it. my foster mom has a cat that I love to sniff, and a shepherd mix I love to play with! I also like to play tug with the 2yo human child in the house sometimes!
