About Fritz

Meet the absolute happiest, sweetest boy. Fritz is a 5 year old Standard Double Merle Aussie. Fritz has been waiting a long time for his new family and we are not sure why he's being overlooked. Fritz loves people and loves his back scratches. He is house and crate trained and walks on leash and rides well in the car. Because he is a Double Merle he does have some vision impairment. Fritz has only half vision due to his lens and pupils not being aligned. This means he can't see the bottom half of things kind normal. Vision and hearing impairment is common in a Double Merle dog. Fritz can hear well. Because of his vision impairment he doesn't do well with small dogs or cats or critters that dart around below his vision level. He does take some time to get used to a new dog and does best with dogs of similar size. He just needs a long time to get comfortable and feel safe but once he does he's the best playmate. We can certainly give tips on how to make this transition for him. Fritz could do well in an only dog home and get lots of one on one love also. Because of his slow comfort level with new dogs he would not make a good dog park or daycare dog so a back yard he can run around and sniff in would be ideal. Fritz is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm negative and on prevention. Fritz would love someone to give him a chance and show them what an awesome dog he is.
