About Devo

Devo (the band) was a one-hit wonder in 1980. Devo (the rat terrier) is sure to be a hit time and time again. Top dog for size? That's Devo at #1! At just 15 lbs., this 2-year-old rat terrier is the perfect size for laps and snuggles. He's currently at the top of the charts in temperament too. A bit cautious after a stint in a shelter, Devo naturally needed a little time to settle into his foster home, but now he's showing his cool personality. He loves entertaining himself with every toy imaginable as well as playing 'space invaders,' where he'll hop in your lap, plant both front paws on your shoulders, and stick that adorable muzzle right in front of your face! Although he prefers to be no more than an arm's length from his human if possible, he settles and naps enough to permit his foster mom to work from home. Devo gets along well with the resident terrier in his foster home and hopes that you'll also have another dog--one who's willing to snuggle and play with him and who's not too fussy about personal boundaries. Devo is house-trained, letting you know he needs to go out by running to the door, and he has done fine loose in the house while his foster parents are out for up to five hours. At night, he sleeps well in a crate after fussing for a few minutes. However, he would happily sleep with you if this is something you allow. He walks great on a leash and his house manners are quite good, but he does like to provide alerts about people or animals he can see through the windows. Devo thinks that you and he would really hit it off!
