Charlie is approximately 18 months old. He is housebroken, sleeps through the night and is a smart, sweet, thoroughly lovable guy. He loves hiking, playing fetch and belly rubs. He enjoys training and learns quickly. He knows his basic commands: sit, stay, down, wait. I have been working with him on drop it and leave it. He is doing well with these commands. We have been working on his leash skills. Most of the time he's great but he's still young and distracted easily. He needs an active, adult home and someone who is willing and able to work with him to bring out his best. A professional or experienced amateur who is looking for a great project dog would be best. This dog has potential. Now for the not so great. Charlie came to us with a history of resource hoarding. He is convinced that my husband is trying to steal his stuff. He has bitten him. He has never gone after me or my daughter (age 34). Both of us are experienced horse people. He may respond better to strong female leadership but he seems to like most men. My husband has a disability and this could also be causing problems. He is now scared of the dog. It is breaking my heart but he can no longer live with my husband.
