About Dave

Dave came to us as an injured stray (healing face wound) not too long ago. We were able to get him neutered and all that comes with that. We found that he did have periodontal disease, so we did a full panel blood work on him and he received a dental. This poor guy had his canine's broken off right at the gum line. We are sure he is feeling so much better now that those roots are not causing him pain. His blood work came back really good as well! Dave did test positive for FIV. He is otherwise healthy. Such a big solid dude! FIB rarely causes any life-changing issues. It can cause their immune system to be a little weaker than your average cat, but many times it stays dormant for their whole life. And with good healthcare, they can live long, happy, healthy lives! FIV can only be transmitted through deep bite wounds. He likely got it from a male cat outside, fighting for his territory or mate. Dave is a friend to all felines! He actually befriended a very nervous, female that came into our rescue. He laid next to her and just told her it was gonna be all right! ÝÙªâ He can safely be in a home with negative cats. Because of his love for other feline friends, we do encourage you to adopt him if you have other cats.
