About Hooch

Welcome Hooch a 1 yr old (estimated), male Bullmastiff puppy to the #ASAR rescue family!!! This boy is sooooo darn cute!!! He is all puppy and definitely needs work on his training skills and manners but he is all fun and squishy love!!! His evaluation with our Behaviorist is this Tuesday and we will be able to tell you more about him after that. He did great with Zola our training dog and loved playing with her. He did great with Athena our Cane Corso but when he got a little over excited she had to put him in his place. He did listen to her corrections well, but at that point, we took him in as we knew she was getting frustrated. I truly think this boy is so excited to make friends and has a lot of work to do on hyperarousal but we will get him there. We posted his pictures on a few posts and he has been already getting a ton of inquiries! He came from a rural shelter where he was taken as a stray with no one to claim him. I can't imagine letting this hunk get away but we will get him all taken care of and find him a forever family! We do things in an order for many reasons, but most of all SAFETY. We evaluate all our animals with our Behaviorist, this is to have a 3rd party outside professional evaluation. These are huge dogs, we want to be sure we know all the good, bad and ugly for potential adopters. We want them to have the right homes, the right lifestyle and succeed. We want to know if they like dogs of ALL sizes, sexes or cats and children. We want to learn everything possible so they never have to cone back. We attribute this time to our less than 2% return ratio! We are incredibly proud of that! We can't read their minds but we can read their body language and their likes/dislikes so you are never adopting a dog blindly. You know what you're getting and know what you must do to succeed!
