About Carter

Carter is a handsome 3-5 year old male black lab/pit, currently about 50 pounds. We recently fostered him from a St. Louis shelter for 2 months after the poor guy was in there for about 6 months, and have now adopted him to try to re-home him ourselves to get him out of there. He is friendly and affectionate toward every human he meets including kids, he Loves to snuggle, and gets along very well with any dogs when they are at our home and/or are introduced to him slowly outside the home. He loves our two dogs, is inseparable with one of them. He needs to be on a leash when on walks away from home, and cannot be off leash or he May become reactive with dogs his size if he feels threatened. He does not do well with aggressive dogs when on walks. He has a slight, sporadic limp to his rear left leg and we give him an inexpensive anti-inflammatory and pain med as needed. --He is great on car rides! He sleeps well and loves couches and beds! He is house trained. Very food motivated! Loves Kongs. Takes treats gently. We LOVE him but have our hands full enough with our other dogs, as well as several grand-dogs we watch regularly. We want him to have a loving home, so he won't be adopted by just anyone. Please open your heart and home to this wonderful boy!
