BIOGRAPHY Coco is a handsome, smooth black & tan standard-sized dachshund. Unfortunately, his owner was no longer able to care for him and lovingly surrendered him to rescue. He turned 1 year old the day he entered rescue, and his birthday gift was a neuter! Since being neutered, his house training has been a work in progress, as he was marking heavily. Coco's foster family says that he is very sweet and loves to be the center of attention. He walks pretty well on the leash and does ok with other dogs. He previously lived with cats and did well with them. He is very territorial to his foster mom and for that reason a home with only respectful, older children should be considered. He has a tendency to nip/bark aggressively if anyone approaches too quickly or startles him, particularly when he is snuggling with his foster mom. He will need a strong owner to continue to correct this behavior. He is otherwise great with the children in his foster home. Coco loves to sleep in the bed with his foster mom. He snuggles up with her under the covers and sleeps all through the night. He loves to play with squeaky toys and loves playing tug of war with the other dog in his foster home. Coco loves all treats, loves to play, and loves to be with his person. He will make a great addition to the right home! Coco is fostered in Columbus, OH and is available for an adoption fee of $375.00. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated, and heartworm negative.
