When all you want is to love and be loved but your dear parents reach the end of their ability to care for you, life just doesn't seem fair. Fortunately, Ros̩ is resilient and accepted the move into foster care pretty easily. As long as she has someone to snuggle with and give her the attention she cherishes, she is happy. She is a house-trained, easy-to-care-for gal with great house manners, as you would expect for a mature 9-11 year old. In Ros̩'s former home, her people showed their love for her by bestowing treats and human food very generously, turning her into quite a roly-poly figure. She had lost a few pounds by the time she got to her foster home, and she is continuing to slowly and healthily slim down some more. Currently Ros̩ weighs 18.6 lbs. and has almost met her goal weight. This was fortunately easy since she loves going on walks and hikes, and she is frisky and vigorous when patrolling the yard. In true rat terrier fashion, however, she easily settles down into a peaceful couch potato in the house--until the doorbell rings or the garage door goes up, that is, and then she will burst into a frenzy of excitement at the prospect of visitors. Ros̩ lived her whole life with her sister Nonie, and the two are congenial but really don't interact much with each other. In fact, Ros̩ gets along just as well with the other foster dog in the home. When she encounters new dogs while out on walks, however, she will bark at them zealously and then walk on with head held high in satisfied victory.
