About Dottie

Adoption Fee: $350.00
Chihuahua mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

DOTTIE is an 8 year old, 15.5 pound long haired Chihuahua mix LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: A calm loving home. HIGHLIGHTS: Quiet and housebroken. Dottie is a beautiful little girl who was surrendered to us because she was not comfortable with a young child in her home. Dottie is currently coexisting with the other dogs in her with foster home. She seems to have some trust issues with people and hasn't allowed herself to relax. That may be from being given away from her home, and we think once she gets into a home where she can feel comfortable her true personality will come out. Right now she is content to stay in a quieter area of the house and protect her bed and food and toys and anything else she thinks is hers from the other dogs. Think how anxious Dottie must be that she feels she has to protect everything in her area so she has something of her own. She is becoming more trusting with her foster mom, but she is in a home with lots of other dogs so it is a real struggle for her. She had never been around other dogs and they make her nervous. Dottie would much prefer to be in a very calm, quiet home with no other dogs and definitely no kids. We have no idea how she would be with cats but if they would leave her alone we're sure she would be fine with them. Dottie sleeps in her dog bed with a soft blanket and is quite happy there. She is potty trained and will let you know if she is ready to go outside. She does walk on a leash too. She would be best with a fenced in yard since she tends to be easily startled. Dottie has a cherry eye that will be repaired by the rescue. She has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Dottie is a quiet and precious little girl who just needs to have the right home where she can know that she is loved and wanted.
