About Coco

COCO is a 5 year old silver and tan female Yorkie who weighs a whopping 5.8 pounds LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: A loving home where she can spend lots of time with her person as an only dog, fenced yard. HIGHLIGHTS: Super sweet and gorgeous little girl looking for love! Coco was found living in a yard in New Orleans with nothing but an open metal crate for protection from the elements. She was in rough shape and terribly matted when found. Another rescue took her in but did not have a foster home available for her so through a mutual friend she came to us. Her foster mom feels that at some point in her life she had been well cared for since she is a friendly and socialized little dog. Coco is so happy! She gives the best kisses and loves to sit on any lap available. She has liked everyone that has come to her foster home and greets them with kisses. Everybody thinks she is adorable and she is! When her hair grows back she will be so beautiful. Coco absolutely loves being near her foster mom, no matter where she is. Whether she is sitting on the sofa or working on the computer, Coco is going to be nearby either sitting in a lap or napping in her dog bed. She likes sleeping in the big bed at night too. One thing we noticed right away was that Coco does not get along well with other dogs and she is going to be best in her home as an only dog. Kids and cats are an unknown. Coco has had a couple of accidents in her foster home, but she goes to the door as soon as she eats and goes out and potties. She sometimes goes to the door and barks when she needs to potty. A fenced yard is necessary as she does loves to explore the yard, it's very curious about everything around her and does not always recall to her person when she is on a quest! She has started to play with toys. Coco has good energy and can be a bit hyper at times. She is prone to bark at some sounds, and when people come in the door or knock, she lets you know. She really enjoys car rides and likes to be up high enough to look out the window. Coco knows her name and comes running when called, especially when snacks are offered. She absolutely loves dinnertime and snacks. Per the vet, She should gain at least 1 pound. Coco needs to be with a person who can spend a lot of time with her. She loves to be loved on and has been starved for attention. We hope she finds a perfect home and a great person that she deserves, she is so loving and sweet! Coco has been to the vet for wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. She has also had a recent dental. Applicants should live within a 1-2 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *To meet a dog or be considered for adoption you must first submit an adoption application for review.
