About Asher

ASHER is a 5 year old, 12.8 pound male Terrier mix LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Fenced yard, lots of time with his person and preferably a doggie companion. HIGHLIGHTS: Very friendly and happy boy, housebroken! Asher is the sweetest black and tan pup who was found as a stray. He has the cutest underbite and big beautiful brown eyes that will melt your heart. He is such a good boy and it's hard to understand why no one came looking for him. Asher enjoys being with his person and follows his foster mom wherever she goes. He greets his person with a happy wiggle butt and a wagging tail. He is quite a mellow fellow and gets along very well with all of the dogs in his foster home. Asher especially enjoys going outside and sitting in the sun with his foster siblings and has started doing zoomies outside with one of his foster siblings. We think he would love having a doggie companion in his new home. If he's alone all day by himself he may be really bored and unhappy. Kids and cats are untested but he may be fine with kids. Since he hasn't been tested with them though we would prefer older kids. Asher rides well in the car and his favorite place to sit is on his foster mom's lap while running errands. He walks well on a leash and loves snack time, but watch your fingers! He is currently learning how to take treats gently. Asher is a bit thin likely due to being a stray and not having access to food and that could account for his eagerness to grab snacks and treats. Asher is completely house trained. Because we don't know how he became a stray, a fenced yard is preferable. Asher has been to the vet for wellness check, is updated on shots, has been fecal tested and heartworm tested, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. He is heartworm positive and has started treatment which is provided by the rescue until he tests negative. He will be scheduled for his neuter and one tooth removal soon. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility.
