About FLUFFY

FLUFFY is a 7 year old, 16.8 pound male Schnauzer mix (best guess!) LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Fenced yard, lots of love and attention. HIGHLIGHTS: Your new best friend! Fluffy came to us from another rescue with another dog. The two had been surrendered by their elderly owner who was not able to care for them. They had been living outside in wire cages with little to no shelter, and they were in terrible shape. Swampy Paws Canine Rescue in Louisiana took them in because they couldn't leave them living like that, but they didn't have a foster home available and they were being boarded. We have a mutual friend who contacted us and asked if we could help, and she drove the two dogs to us! Are you looking for a faithful friend? Fluffy is a very sweet-natured, playful boy who is happy, happy to have attention. He loves to be near his person and will be a great companion dog. He snuggles close to his foster mom all day and night. She can't move without Fluffy being right there with her and he rarely leaves her side. He is always so happy to see her and will be a great dog for someone home a majority of the time. Fluffy gets along well with other little dogs, but in his foster home he can be a little snappy with the younger, bigger dogs there. He did have a small female companion in his prior home and that probably is his best fit for a doggy friend. Any kids in his new home should be older (12+). We have no idea how he would be with cats. Fluffy was living outside and didn't have to worry about potty training. As a result he is not housebroken (foster mom is working on this), but he does know how to use a doggy door. He's okay on a leash, and we believe a fenced yard is best for him. He barks at strangers, but adores his person. Fluffy will need regular brushing and grooming to keep him from getting matted. He doesn't need to be in bad shape ever again! He has been fully vetted... wellness check, all shots, including lepto, neuter and a dental, fecal and heartworm tested. Fluffy is surprisingly heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. This boy is ready to find his new home! Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *To meet a dog or be considered for adoption you must first submit an adoption application for review.
