About Maisy

MEET MAISY! Maisy is a 1 year old, 11.2 pound female Miniature Poodle mix LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Playful doggy friend, active family, fenced yard. HIGHLIGHTS: Playful and sweet. Maisy was adopted from us in March and returned last week. Her family said they were moving and that they were having issues potty training her. The last report we had had of her was positive so we aren't sure what happened, but are happy to have this gorgeous little fluff ball back! Maisy is young, sweet and energetic. She loves destroying squeaky toys, paper napkins, branches from outside, and any tissue she can find. Maisy loves attention and it's always happy to see her person. When she isn't playing, she will lay her head on her arm or shoulder and cuddle up close. Maisy sleeps in the bed with her foster mom, and likes to be either by her head, or under the covers by her side. She doesn't always sleep throughout the night, sometimes she wakes up and looks for some play time! Maisy loves to play and will be best with a play buddy. She gets the zoomies, and especially likes it when she can get someone to join in. She doesn't always easily take cues to back off if another dog doesn't want to play and she will be best in a home with another equally playful dog who loves to bounce around and play as much as she does. We have not had her around kids but assume that she would be great with older kids, she might be a little too much for little ones. We think she would chase a cat joyfully. Maisy is not housebroken yet, but will go outside when taken out regularly. She does still have accidents in the house and we are sure that with a solid routine and lots of praise and positive reinforcement she will get the hang of it, but it is probably going to take somebody who will be willing to work with her. Maisy does need a home with a fenced yard as that will not only help with potty training but will also give her an outlet for her playful energy. Maisy is fine in the car, and needs work on leash training. She is the type of dog who is going to need to be brushed and groomed regularly to keep her from getting painful mats, and you can tell by these pictures how gorgeous she is when she stays nicely groomed! Maisy has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month proheart prevention shock, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration.
