About Clifford

CLIFFORD is a 1 year old, 21.2 pound Dachshund Beagle mix (best guess) LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Fenced yard, loving family. HIGHLIGHTS: Great family dog! Clifford (the Big Red Dog) was found as a stray several weeks ago. The finders kept him while they looked for an owner, but they were not successful and asked if we would help him find a new home. He is as a little bigger than our normal but we had a foster home open and we couldn't resist his sweet face! Clifford is super sweet and wants loving all the time. He thinks he's a lap dog during the day and wants to cuddle with you at night. He has a soft coat that you will love to pet. Clifford is so affectionate and nothing makes him happier than being loved on. He's a very happy, happy boy with a very happy tail! He would be happiest in a home with another dog to play with or older kids. He is active and loves to romp and play with everyone he meets. He is very curious and loves to play with the other dogs. He likely will chase cats. Clifford loves to be outside playing, but he doesn't want to stay out too long, especially without his person. He loves to explore and sniff and follow a scent. He absolutely needs a fenced yard to keep him safe from his wandering nature. Clifford is not fully housebroken, but is working on it. He knows how to use a doggy door and loves to go in and out at will. We love his big dog chuffy bark! Clifford has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. His neuter will be scheduled at one of our vets soon and is covered by the rescue. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *To meet a dog or be considered for adoption you must first submit an adoption application for review.
