Bear is a purebred Polish lines long coated German Shepherd. He is an AMAZING dog. He is mildly to very submissive with other dogs. Great with people of all ages once he is introduced. He is not food or toy possessive at all. He is also not foot motivated but is highly toy motivated mostly a flirt pole and anything squeaky he loves. He's a big baby really. Why is he being rehomed? He is a very large dog.. guessing around 120 pounds? He does have a very 'short' hind end and has difficulty with stairs and cars and has developed severe anxiety about both. Whoever takes him MUST be able to lift him either full body or in a crate. We have reached the decision to rehome him given a situation yesterday where he refused to come back up into the house via the few stairs we have on the deck. It is just my daughter and I and we cannot lift a 120+ pound dog in crate (and ultimately had to post on facebook after 12hours of trying to get him up the stairs ourselves for someone to come help us lift him.. in his crate.. back onto the deck). Ideally he would be on a farm or a house with land he can roam with other submissive/passive dogs. He LOVES other playmates and desperately wants some. He comes fully AKC registered and has had all his latest year old boosters which I believe all last 3 years. I am asking an adoption fee that represents basically reimbursement of his last vet visit for yearly shots etc and a mild rehoming fee. You will receive his AKC paperwork (he cost $3,800 from a breeder in Michigan plus travel costs to CT and has had basic training and knows many commands, sit stay, wait, will give paw, touch etc and is fully crate trained)
