Lenny was found several times within a week running in the street. We were able to communicate with the owner who wanted to relinquish him to us right away. We found out that Lenny was just recently adopted from the shelter. He went to the vet for an exam as he has a cough that we were concerned could be kennel cough since he came from the shelter. We did X-rays which showed that Lenny has an enlarged heart. He has been put on medication for a month because the vet wants to see if that will help him. Then he will need more X-rays to compare to. We won't know until then what the future holds for this sweet little guy. He may need to be on medication the rest of his life. He also has Giardia which is being treated. We believe that Lenny is a chihuahua/dachshund/pomeranian mix, we estimate that Lenny is around 6 years old. He weighs 14 lbs. He is very sweet, good with dogs and cute as can be! He was groomed and had to be shaved because of matting and feels so much better to be clean! He looks like a puppy! He is not able to get neutered until we know more about his heart issue. If you are interested in adopting him, he would be a foster to adopt until he can be neutered. You will also need to be financially able to care for him and his future medical needs. If you are interested in adopting Lenny please fill out our MHS K9 Adoption Application from our website at mountainshumanesociety.org We do not adopt out of state at this time.
