About Chester

Lab mix
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Meet Chester !! This ridiculously adorable puppy was saved from an outdoor shelter. He is thriving in his foster home and is such a good pup! He is an approx 4 month old lab mix possibly with hound. He will likely be a large dog. He weighs 25 pounds currently. He will get several sets of vaccines, dewormed, a microchip and neuter as part of his adoption. Chester is a very happy, playful and active pup. Once he is tired out from playing he is cuddly and likes to be held. He is so full of life. He has a longest tail adding to his adorable looks. He is fostered with other dogs and doing great. He has also been fostered around cats and does fine with them. He would do well with kids but he's big, active and likes to jump up and be all over people so small kids may get knocked over. He's young and can learn but it will take effort from his new family. Chester has been doing well with potty training but isn't perfect at it yet. He is doing well with leash training but pulls a bit still. He has done very well on car rides and does amazing with crate training. He can be very active at times and will need lots of physical and mental stimulation to keep him happy and out of trouble. He absolutely has to have lots of exercise. If not you will get a bored and frustrated dog that will get into trouble. Chester is still working on manners. We think he may be part rabbit with his ability to jump high on to things such as counters and tables. He will need help learning not to do those things. Good news is he is extremely smart and learning very quickly. He has had no issues sharing food, treats or toys with humans or other animals. His foster says: He is a really good puppy, happy and friendly. Loves to give kisses and cuddle. If you're willing to put in some training to help him refine his house manners you'll be getting a wonderful new best friend! Remember you have the initial puppy stage where they need to be taught everything and then the adolescent stage kicks in where they become very active and need more exercise. To end up with a wonderful and well trained dog you have to be ready and willing to put in the hard work over the first year or two. Vet and home checks required. Located in Hampton VA. (He will need to be adopted within a 2 hour drive radius) Please message [email protected] directly with questions or to get an application.
