PLEASE COMPLETE THE ADOPTION APPLICATION AT WWW.GREATPETS.ORG. Jax is a 27-lb., 2-1/2 year old Cockapoo surrendered by his family when they did not have enough time for him. He is energetic, playful, friendly, and loves walks and play time. Though wary of strangers at first meeting, Jax is sweet and trusting once he knows you. Jax needs to be given his own space, consistent messages, and regular exercise so we'll only consider an experienced adopter (familiarity with Cocker Spaniel or Poodle breeds is helpful) with a managed adult household without children. A home with a yard that provides a larger, private living space and room to run and play is ideal (Jax will not do well in a condo or apartment). Jax should be the only dog in the home. Jax is currently enrolled at a board-and-train facility to achieve desired behavior through consistent, positive-reward training techniques. He'll be available for adoption at the end of April so we're taking applications now with the hope to involve his new owner in the training experience for a successful in-home adoption using the same training techniques and cues. Jax will respond to an owner who sets boundaries and is home fairly often or works from home. When you meet Jax, you'll quickly see he is a wonderful dog worth the time and commitment.
