About Spice Liza

Introducing SPICE LIZA! STATS: 8 year old Pomeranian LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Patience and love, fenced yard, doggy friend. HIGHLIGHTS: Gorgeous and sweet. Our pretty girl Spice Liza was owner surrendered to the rescue. She is an 8 year old, 9.4 pound gorgeous black and tan Pomeranian. Spice Liza wasn't well socialized in her previous life and really needs someone who will spend time with her to help her become the loving and trusting pet she is meant to be. She so badly wants to be loved, but if approached will get apprehensive and skitter around. She wags her tail a lot and is treat motivated, which helps get her to come to you. Spice Liza loves to be petted and will endearingly paw at you for more attention. Often when she is being cuddled and held, she will fall asleep in your arms. A belly rub is also something Spice Liza has found she enjoys! She is really starting to enjoy this pet idea! Spice Liza is being fostered in the same home as one of the 11 Pomeranians surrendered with her. They have similar personalities and tend to do a lot together and stay close to each other. She also gets along with the other dogs in the home, and is unconcerned about the cat. We are requiring a another little dog in her new home to help her adjust and acclimate to her new life. Because she is still skittish and afraid of the unknown, little kids are not going to be a good fit for her. She probably will never fully relax around them. Older kids (12+) should be okay. Spice Liza spends a lot of her time on a dog bed where she can watch her foster mom and the other dogs. She started by staying in the laundry room as she was very timid and as she has become more confident, she has made her way out into the living area where there are lots of dog beds to provide her comfort. She and her pom sister sleep in a dog bed through the night. She does like to venture outside in the yard and explore. Spice Liza is not housetrained and it will take some time for her to get the hang of it. She has not had any experience with a leash and due to her timid personality will probably not do well with one. As such, she should have a secure fenced yard in her new home for outdoor activity. Her beautiful coat will require periodic trips to the groomer and regular brushings at home. Spice Liza has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Her spay and a dental are scheduled at one of our vets on February 22nd, and both of those procedures are covered by the rescue. All you need to do is make sure she gets to the appointment! Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility.
