All potential adopters are required to be available for a zoom call prior to an in person meeting. Please read the entire post as all the required information and instructions for adoption are listed within.) Meet Figs!! If you are looking for a loving little boy who makes friends with everyone he meets then this little fellow is your guy! This precious soul was dumped in the orchards of Lamont in Kern County which has become the de facto dumping ground for unwanted dogs. A good samaritan saw him on the side of the road, stopped her car and when she got out he came running to her for help. He has no microchip and was not claimed. She contacted us and we took him in to find him a home that would love him forever. He is still a puppy at about 7 to 9 months old with gleeming white teeth. He is a terrier mix and looks to be a Border Terrier/Shih Tzumix although we do not know for certain but he has the Shih Tzu type elbows and body. He is very smart and has a propensity for learning quickly. He is in foster care with his foster Mom & Dad, two kids, grandparents and 3 other dogs. Everyone fell in love with him the first day! He also loves baths so he would probably make for a great beach or lake dog. He is also excellent in a car as he is very calm and just sits and watches the world go by. He has an excellent personality as he is very friendly, loving and playful. He is not a fearful dog so he is the type of little guy you could take anywhere. He is also not much of a barker. He weighs in at about 9 - 10 pounds now and will probably max out at about 12-15 pounds. His brindle coat is soft and low shedding. His adoption fee includes: 1. Updated DAPP vaccine 2. Neuter 3. Deworming 4. Rabies vaccine 5. Microchip 6. Harness and leash His adoption fee is $450. As we prescreen via email ONLY (we do NOT make or receive phone calls in the pre-screening phase) please tell us a bit about you such as: 1. Your lifestyle, activity level and work schedule. 2. Area you live in and if it is a house or apartment. (Please indicate city) 3. How many adults, children and pets in the household. 4. Where your pet stays when you are out or at work. 5. Where your pet will sleep. 6. Dog breed experience 7. Have you ever had to give up a pet 8. If you do not currently have a pet how you will keep Figs socialized with other dogs Some notes to consider before applying for Figs:: 1.. Figs is a old pup7-9 month old puppy Please make sure that everyone is on board and ready for the responsibility of a young dog. 2. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER. 3. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog and did not receive a response please do try again. We try to answer every email but it is not always possible. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place. 4. PLEASE do NOT send more than one email. It slows down the process. 5. We do not make appointments for people to just come 'see' the dogs available. They are in private foster homes and we go through a pre-screening process before any appointments are made. Thank you for choosing to adopt!
