About Duncan and Edna

Adoption Fee: $650.00
Italian Greyhound / Chihuahua
Age: Young Adult

Meet DUNCAN and EDNA! STATS: 4+ year old Italian Greyhound Chihuahua mixes LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Each other, fenced yard. HIGHLIGHTS: Happy and friendly. Edna is 4 years, 8 months old and weighs 15.14 pounds. Duncan is 4 1/2 years old and weighs 7 pounds. We believe both are Italian Greyhound Chihuahua mixes. Duncan and Edna were recently found abandoned at a Motel 6 in Texas. Duncan had been adopted from us in 2019, and his fursister Edna had been adopted from another rescue earlier that year. Duncan was microchipped to us so we were contacted when they were found. We acted very quickly and brought both dogs back here to Pensacola. They are fairly attached to each other in so we asked the other rescue if we could keep Edna with him and they agreed. We would like the two dogs to get adopted together if at all possible. We don't know what happened to them, but they have not had an easy time of it and they would love to find a patient and caring owner to love them for the rest of their lives! Duncan and Edna are both very sweet, happy lap dogs, although Edna is a little bit more suspicious of strangers at first. However once she knows you she's a very friendly little girl, and it doesn't take her too long to figure out that someone is her friend. Duncan greets everyone with a wagging tail. They are both affectionate and kissy dogs who love being petted and getting attention. Duncan is a cuddler and Edna is a hugger who does the cutest belly crawl all over the place when she is getting attention! They have good energy and would like to have an active family. They can be barkers and are not best suited to apartment/condo/town home living. They are not fully housebroken. Duncan and Edna should go to a home with a fenced yard. They get along for the most part with other dogs although Edna can be a little bit territorial. They are perfectly fine with each other, enjoy each other's company and even though they are young, they are bonded to each other. Duncan and Edna have been around teenagers and were perfectly fine, but we don't know about younger kids. We also do not know how they would be with cats. At night Duncan and Edna like to curl up to sleep with their family in the big bed, but will also sleep together in a dog bed in the bedroom. Duncan and Edna have been to the vet for wellness checks, are up to date on shots, spayed and neutered, fecal and heartworm tested, have had 12 month ProHeart heartworm prevention shots, and are microchipped with lifetime registrations. Duncan is heartworm negative, however Edna is heartworm positive. We have started her treatment and that is covered by the rescue until she tests negative.
