About Viola

Adoption Fee: $75
Black Mouth Cur mix
Age: Puppy
Sex: Female

Viola (Female) is a 1 yr. 10 month old Black mouth cur our family recently adopted from the SPCA Houston. She weighs 61 pounds and is a super sweet dog. However, she is not the right dog for our family - way too high energy! She is a 3-legged dog, her left back leg having been amputated just before we adopted her. We( 3 adults, 1 teenager, and 1 15-yr. old pit mix) live in a Houston-area suburban house with a smallish back yard. Viola needs land, farm animals, to be able to roam free within the property, safely investigating any and everything. In our home, she has to be crated several hours a day, including at bedtime. She hates being crated in the daytime - she is easily bored and will chew and destroy things out of boredom and frustration. She gets along with Moxie, our old pit mix but she also takes Moxie's bones and stuff which Moxie finds frustrating. We all love Viola but she needs a better quality life in a rural or semi-rural environment (with good fences). No information from the SPCA on how the leg was shattered. I suspect she got out of someone's city backyard and got hit by a car. There seem to be no issues with the amputated leg. We can, of course, take her back to the SPCA and we will surrender her within the 30 days if we have to. But I know in my heart that the right family exists out there with the right home and property for her! If you are interested, please text or email me and I will call back.
