Karma is a beagle/cocker spaniel/terrier mix according to her genetic test. She is 11 years old (she will turn 12yrs in May). She is 23lbs, small mixed breed. She has been living with us since May 2020 (2.5-3 years). We adopted her from the Humane Society of Charlotte where she was a family surrender after 9 years of being with the same family. We were told her previous family surrendered her due to combining households and the grandparents were allergic. She apparently used to live with kids and another small dog. Currently she lives with only a cat and no kids and no other dogs. She has been such a sweet girl who is active outdoors and loves walks/hikes. She sleeps most of the day otherwise and loves to snuggle in a blanket in her dog bed or on the couch next to us under a blanket. She is house trained, doesn't have any destructive behavior, hasn't had any separation anxiety, and does fine when I was gone all day for work (I had dog walkers stop by for a mid-day walk). I take her to the dog park at Anne Springs Close Greenway 2-3 times a week. She does bark at the other dogs there and is the referee. She also barks at other dogs on the leash, but we've been working on training (and worked with a trainer too in the summer of 2020) and she is easily corrected with proper guidance. She is not aggressive at all, just a bit of a vocal girl. She is a bit nervous when it comes to strangers, so, it takes time for her to get used to people she doesn't know. When she does, she is very loving and loves being petted and contact. She is a great companion and family member and we are very sad to part with her. REASON FOR REHOMING: We are moving to the Netherlands and aren't able to bring her with us. We also think it would be a very stressful experience for her to fly transatlantic (she is not crate trained, this is in progress currently). We are also not sure if we can find a rental that allows pets.
