Harrison - a very special Aussie is looking for his forever home (please read the entire bio before applying) Meet Harrison. This adorable guy is not only SUPER SWEET, but he's incredibly resilient. In late December, a woman driving back from North Carolina spotted him on the side of the Interstate. Likely injured, she took him to the vet, had him checked out and through a series of connections, he came to ARMA. Truthfully, we have no idea all the trauma Harrison has had to endure in his one year of life. But it has not slowed this happy guy down at all. He's cuddly, playful, and affectionate. Harrison is also VERY smart, he's an Aussie after all. He loves a routine and is incredibly observant. He has a very high capacity to learn. After two days of being with his foster, he understood that when the family sat down, he should go to his dog bed. He figured out when his foster mom put her coat on, it meant time to go outside. He LOVES to ride in the car and will happily run errands with his foster mom. Harrison likes to be near his family - but can relax and enjoy his Kong. Because of the trauma Harrison endured, his back legs are weak, so physical therapy and strengthening will be required. He's getting stronger every day, and is certainly HIGH ENERGY, but can't fully lift his back leg to potty, so his foster mom wipes him off, which he enjoys and has come to expect. Harrison suffered trauma to his jaw, which has cause dental issues - we are working with his foster mom to get that corrected. He lacks some balance and coordination, so out of an abundance of caution, he's going to have a full neurological examination. Harrison is also small, right now he's under 30lbs, so is foster mom is upping his calories. He should be a standard Aussie. Harrison's perfect home is one with a fenced in yard; a patient, dedicated fun-loving human that has the ability to be at home or work from home and another playful dog. We will NOT consider homes for Harrison where he's left alone crated for several hours a day, or a home without a fenced in yard. His forever owner MUST be dedicated to Harrison's health and helping him regain his strength.
