About Layla

Layla is an 11 week old purebred Great Dane. I have a 15 month old female Great Dane, Luna, and a senior male Dachshund, Freckles. I got Layla as a sister and playmate for Luna. Layla is so sweet and Luna loves Layla. Freckles, however, is a different story. He is very dominant and doesn't like Layla for some reason. He was fine when I got Luna but he's not fine with Layla. He growls at her constantly and has snapped at her several times, the last time scratching her face. I've tried everything but am at my wits end. While I'd prefer to re-home Freckles, I can't because that's my son's childhood dog. Layla is extremely affectionate with kisses, she loves sitting in my lap, and she follows me everywhere. She has learned to go up and down stairs and most of the time lets me know when she needs to go out and potty. She sleeps with me and Luna in my bed. Layla was the largest puppy in her litter of five, the other four being males. Layla's mother is 170 lbs and her father is 240 lbs, so Layla is going to be a big, beautiful girl! A fenced in yard (at least 4' tall) is required.
