My ex and I adopted Gracie 3 years ago and saved her from being euthanized at a shelter in Ohio. She has been a slight challenge and was much easier to handle when I had help from my ex. She seems to be more receptive to listening to a big man than me, a small structured female. If Gracie is not approached properly or introduced to new humans properly she can become reactive. She clearly experienced some form of neglect or abuse in her past. But once she trusts you, she is the most loving and sweet dog that will shower you with an abundance of kisses and love. My travel schedule for work has recently increased and I sadly do not have the time to put into Gracie's continued training and quality of life. She's very active and needs to exert out that energy throughout the day. She is also cage reactive to strangers but not to owners or those she trusts. It breaks my heart it's come to this point. I love her dearly and want her to have a better quality of life than what I can offer her at this time. She needs to be the only dog in the home without children. She gets very excited and plays too rough for my comfort level of her being around small children. I really need help in rehoming my sweet baby and I'm going to be very selective in the process. I cannot imagine taking her to a shelter so I figured I would try this site.
