Meet Colton! Colton is a 4-year-old, 65 lb., pitbull. He is sweet, friendly, and very strong. Colton seems a bit scary from afar, but the truth is that you will never meet a more loving dog. This boy is very attentive, and aims to please! Colton will do anything for treats and could be trained easily. While he is a definite no for cats, he does do great around other dogs. We think he would do perfectly fine around kids of any age that can respect him. Colton came into the shelter as a stray that had been lingering around a neighborhood in Haywood County. That was early December, and as we are in March, none of us understand how he hasn't found a place yet. Colton is one of the first dogs people saw when they pulled into the shelter parking lot, and they always have something positive to say about him. He is always waiting by the fence, stomping his feet and wiggling his butt with a toy in his mouth. He has wonderful manners and does not even jump! Colton is gentle with people, playful with other dogs, and knows how to entertain himself! He is now in a foster home with three other dogs. He tends to be more independent but, does not have an issue with other dogs. Even if they approach when he is concentrating on a toy. According to his foster dad, he is a complete 'love bunny', Level 5 expert cuddler and will hop into bed with your wife on the first day. This boy has PLENTY of love to go around. He does this sweet thing where he suckles a blanket when he's going to sleep. Colton is a real treasure and has integrated into the pack seamlessly. Colton has been completely vaccinated, treated for fleas/ticks, and has tested positive for heartworm disease and negative for all tick-borne diseases. Colton's heartworm treatment is being paid for by a sponsor. He has already been neutered thanks to the Brownsville Humane Society and its donors!
