Duncan is a very affectionate puppy and decidedly soft-tempered most of the time. Only when the pack mentality kicks in does he act bratty. He is scared of strangers but as soon as he knows and trusts you he wants to be near you much of the time and likes to be in your lap and tuck his head under your chin. He loves having a plush toy or two or three in his mouth and either lie down and squeeze them, do zoomies with them, or have you admire them while he holds them. Duncan is nervous with new dogs but seems to be okay with them as long as he is away from his family members. As a pack they are very reactive and engage in fence aggression. He is reactive to cats. He is an intelligent guy that learns quickly and is very responsive to positive reinforcement training. Already he is getting familiar with basic obedience and learning about leash walking, crating etc. He quickly figured out how to use a doggie door but is still physically a little immature and not yet fully house trained. Duncan is one of the Homedale Kids which were recently found running in the road in Homedale and not in the best condition. They had clearly been somewhat cared for previously but needed de-wormer and vaccines and are now doing much better. We guestimate that Duncan is 5-6 months old. He looks like he has some border collie but he obviously has at least one small breed in him as well and he is either as tall as he'll get or won't get much bigger.
