Sweetheart TIMMY is still looking for his new family! STATS: 4 year old Chihuahua-Pom mix LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Fenced yard, furry friend, and love! HIGHLIGHTS: Very sweet, appears to be housebroken. Timmy is a 4 year old, 9.12 pound Chihuahua mix who was surrendered to us. He was very afraid when he first came in and was completely unused to living in a home. As a matter of fact we don't think this dog has ever spent time indoors in his life. His foster mom spent a few hours the first day coaxing him into the house because he didn't know it was okay for him to be there, and he shook for 3 days. Now that he is settling in, Timmy is a sweet unassuming little guy who has experienced a lot of new things, like food and water in clean bowls, soft beds and blankets, and endless scratches and hugs. He has learned to live indoors, eat regular meals and sleep in the big bed. Mostly, he thinks it's wonderful to be in a home with kind people. Timmy follows his foster mom all over the house, and sleeps next to her at night. He is very quiet and polite in this new indoor world he has found himself in and his foster mom has yet to hear him bark. Timmy gets along well with all the other dogs in his foster home, and is used to being around other dogs. He was shy with them at first, but he loves having a furry friend to play with. He would be happiest with a dog similar in size. We have not had him around cats or kids. Based on his shy personality we don't think a home with little kids is his best fit. Timmy goes outside to potty, although he has not yet learned to use the doggy door. His foster mom says she hasn't seen him try to pee in the house since day one, and that is likely because he does not know that he can (even if he shouldn't) go potty in the house since he lived outside! He does not walk well on a leash and does need a home with a fenced yard. Timmy has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, was neutered yesterday, has been fecal tested, is heartworm negative, has had a 12-month ProHeart heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *To meet a dog or be considered for adoption you must first submit an adoption application for review.
