Name: Poogan Age: 4 Years (DOB 11/24/18) Sex: Male Breed: Great Pyrenees/Newfoundland Location: Remington, Virginia (Fauquier County/Culpeper County). Can travel within reason, but please note that at least one in-person meet and greet is required prior to adoption. Neutered: Yes Microchipped: Yes Known health conditions: Anxiety. Good blood work at his last yearly checkup; 4DX results all negative. Up to date on all vaccinations (9/7/22) and heartgard/nexgard. Can be prone to ear infections without proper care. Last vet visit: February 3, 2023. Weight was 122lbs. Special considerations: Poogan is uncomfortable with children; he has snapped at our daughter twice. He is not aggressive to other dogs but can be reactive depending on situational factors. He has not had much experience with cats, and has no livestock experience. Poogan is a velcro dog that loves to be by your side all day and bury his head in your lap for pats and scratches. He is a truly wonderful, dedicated companion - with a few quirks. He is goofy, loving, timid, protective, and what I like to call 'slowbedient' (i.e. he'll probably do what you ask him to, but in his own time ÝÙ÷ä). He's a big baby, a hunk of love. He would make a perfect buddy for someone who likes constant company, is willing to be patient with his special needs, and can provide him with confident, gentle leadership. Non-Negotiable Adoption Requirements (PLEASE READ): - Adult-only household - Someone who is home most of the time (i.e. work from home or retired). - Adoption as a pet, not a Livestock Guardian Dog/outdoor dog. - Prior relevant experience with anxious, fearful, or reactive dogs.
