About Tux #ideal-family-dog

Adoption Fee: $300
Lab / Schnauzer
Age: Young Puppy
Sex: Male

Arf! Arf, everyone! I'm Tux, a sweet, affectionate, and cuddly 'tuxedo' Black Labrador/ Schanauzer mix fella with a white bib and white gloves who was born in October 2022. I have the Lab's long snout but the Schnauzer's perfectly folded-over ears. At three months old, I weighed 18 pounds, and I should be a 45-50-pound adult. Just call me easy-to-please because I get along great with everyone-- large or small -- and other dogs. Recently I heard my foster mom tell someone, 'They just don't get any better than Tux.' I'm a playful dude who adores chasing all my toys. Foster Mom thinks that I'm extremely smart because I've already learned to sit and shake hands! Remember that the sweet-faced, lovable Labrador Retriever is America's most popular dog breed. We're friendly, outgoing, and high-spirited companions who have more than enough affection to go around for a family who's looking for a medium-sized dog. We Labs have all the attributes that add up to the ideal family dog. Like most Lab mixes, expect me to be a very loving, companionable housemate who bonds with the whole family as well as who socializes well with neighbor dogs and humans alike. But don't mistake my easy-going personality for low energy: Labs are enthusiastic athletes who require regular exercise to keep us physically and mentally fit. I'll need an active family who will take me on daily walks or engage me with tennis balls, tug-ropes, or Frisbees. I was found tied to a pole outside a vet's office, and more than likely I was abandoned because my owner couldn't afford to care for me because of the economic downturn. I eventually made my way to Miss Donna, whom I'm trusting will find me a wonderful forever family the second time around. Arrange to meet me today so I can cover your face with mushy puppy kisses. My puppy-dog heart has so much love to give -- all I need is YOU! Tux has had his first round of puppy shots, is dewormed, is microchipped, and has been on heartworm preventative. His second round of puppy shots is included in his adoption fee. Adopter must sign a contract to bring him back to Miss Donna in May for him to be neutered at 7 months old. His adoption fee is $300 for puppies 9 months and younger. An application must be filled out prior to adoption.
