About Moose

Moose Cairn Terrier/Poodle Mix Male 5 years old 13 lbs. Hey there, my name is Moose! I may be a small dog, but my love for humans is as big as a moose (hence my name!) I am a total love and will bring so much happiness to a forever home of my very own! I'm a huge snuggle bug! I like to jump in people's laps for pets or lie on top of the couch next to your head. I just want to be near you and warm up incredibly quickly to new people. I'm just the sweetest! I'm also good with kids as long as they give me gentle pets! I'm also friendly with dogs my own size and live with two dogs in my foster home! I'm not really into playing with other dogs so I'd do best with a dog who is more easy going and can just hang out with me and be more relaxed overall (or I'd do just fine as the only dog as well!) I have even done well with cats! I'm a little excited around them at first but after a couple of days of transition, I settle in and live with them just fine. I enjoy casual walks around the neighborhood and watching squirrels run around in the backyard. I'm not the type who needs a lot of exercise (for example, I recently enjoyed a hike in the mountains only because I was in my foster mom's backpack!) and I enjoy just hanging out with my foster family and being loved. I occasionally get the zoomies when I want to play and I do love a good game of fetch. One important medical note: I have a heart condition called Chronic Valvular Degeneration (CVD), which affects the valves of my heart so I need a forever family that is comfortable with my medical needs going forward. CVD tends to progress slowly but my condition will likely lead to congestive heart failure in the future and may affect my life expectancy overall. I need to be on daily medication that costs $85/month and I need an adopter who can build a great relationship with a vet so I have all the support I need going forward.
