Bella will be 2 years old in January. I have copies of vet records on hand. We have been fostering her since October, when her owner (my grandmother) went into memory care. Bella is an active love bug, who plays and loves my two young boys. She does very well with kids and our cat. I do think she'd be a wonderful companion to a retired couple or person, and would love someone to spend the entire day with. My 7 year old, who is terrified of most dogs, has surprisingly found a friend in Bella. He adores her, which is wild because he's never expressed interest in dogs- he's a cat person haha. She hasn't shown aggression, but in true Chihuahua nature- she barks when she sees strangers, not so much a random barker. She will growl in a game of tug-of-war, but it's not an aggressive growl, but a play growl. She's a bit slow to warm up, but once she trusts you- she's all in. She also enjoys a warm blanket to lay on (she has a fancy dog bed), but is a true lap dog. She will be happy to cuddle up for a nap! She uses the dog door, but is not kennel trained, though we are working on it. She sleeps in her kennel at night. She's a quick learner. My grandmother's dementia left her not able to train her well, so we've been working on breaking a few free range habits. In the few months we've had her, she's had maybe a handful of accidents in the house, and I think consistency has been very effective. We do leave her access to the dog door during the day so she can let herself out to potty. She likes to chew, but has a few toys that occupy her time, and loves safe chew sticks. She isn't destructive, and is never far from eyesight when we're home- she prefers it that way. In all honesty- she's a fantastic dog who will make another family or person very happy. She has a lot of joy and love to share. Bella comes with a Kennel, Science Diet Chihuahua Food, and loads of treats and toys!
