About Gracie

Gracie is a sweet 1.5 year old 7 pound Yorkie girl being fostered in Austin Texas. Only Texas applicants will be considered Gracie came to UYR as a surrender along with 2 other Yorkers from a home where the owner was unable to care for her. She is settling into her foster home very well and is very sweet and gentle. She loves people and gets along with other dogs. Although she arrived very matted and in desperate need of grooming, she has been vetted and is very healthy! She tolerated hours of grooming and loved the attention! She received her vaccinations this week and her spay surgery is scheduled for next week. She will be available for adoption after she heals from the surgery. She had one litter of pups in March 2022 that were also surrendered to UYR earlier this year. Gracie likes to be held and could very easily be a lap dog, but as she becomes more secure in her new foster environment, she enjoys exploring in the back yard and is starting to run and play with her foster yorkie brother. After a few days, she is expressing more interest in playing with toys . While I was playing with our other yorkie one morning, she surprised me and picked up a mini tennis ball and brought it over and dropped it in front of me and retrieved it a few times.. She likes walks and does well on a leash. Her surrender form says she is crate and pad trained. We take her outside several times a day, so is quickly learning the potty routine at her foster home. She is very gentle and loving and will make an excellent companion whether in a single dog or multi-dog household!
