About Cali

Cali was my grown son's dog and they were very close. He got locked up aug 2020 n I inherited Cali. I'm an older woman and I have lots of health issues, which is why I was done having pets. I only took her on because there was no one else and I didn't want her to go to a shelter and risk going to someone who would not love n take great care of her. She def has anxiety that I believe is from being separated from my son and not knowing why. She has also seemingly become reactive where she was not when my son had her. She's such a good girl and the best snuggle buddy ever! She's fixed n doesn't need her rabies till April 2023. She's extremely housebroken. Like she consistently is able to wait 12hrs(if need be) to go potty. She doesn't play with toys but loves lots of attention, mostly scritches n massages. She had bladder stones 4yrs ago n vet said no more bones or dry food so since those changes were made she's had no more issue. I do have her on hip/joint supplements as she started limping and those supplements work great! She needs 1 everyday. I also have her on a probiotic I put in her morning food and that along with mixing her food with white rice and unsweetened applesauce has had her poops nice and normal. She's older and will sleep but I think it's mostly cause I do. She still gets zoomies couple times a week and you'd swear she's a puppy again by how fast she can run! I am just exhausted and don't have the energy mobility or the funds to continue taking care of her. She's about 70lbs and very strong and I have mobility issues so I'm unable to bathe her and can afford to have her groomed but just a couple times a year. She knows a good amount of commands and she will def let you know if anyone is around your house/porch, ect. A young person or couple that have energy and patience could really make a huge difference In Cali's life. She deserves her final years to be the best.
