About ROXIE

Meet ROXIE! STATS: 4 year old Chi mix LOCATION: Pensacola FL NEEDS: Lots of loving, a soft doggy bed. HIGHLIGHTS: Very friendly and sweet girl! Sweet Roxie is a 4 year old, 13.6 Chihuahua mix who was surrendered to us out of a bad living situation. We were happy to take her! Roxie is very friendly and loves everyone she meets. She may be a little shy at first, but that goes away within minutes. Then she wags her tail and invites petting and gives kisses. She will sit on your lap for pets and belly rubs, then she's off to find a comfy bed to nap in! During the day she likes to hang out on a dog bed near her person or lie on the back of the couch to watch the world go by. At night Roxie is a cuddle bug in the big bed for awhile and then goes and finds a nice soft dog bed to sleep in until morning. Then she gets back up on the bed for snuggles and play time. Roxie does well with dogs of all sizes and would enjoy having a calm doggy friend in her new home but she would probably also be okay as an only as long as she was getting enough time with her person. Cats and children are an unknown, but older children familiar with little dogs would probably be fine. Roxie loves her snacks and eats well. If another dog comes to steal her food, she will give them a low warning growl but she has never been aggressive with any of them. She does not seem to be interested in toys at this time. Roxie walks well on a leash and enjoys neighborhood walks. We don't think she absolutely has to have a fenced yard, although it is always nice! She also does well going to stores with her foster mom, and she does great on car rides too. Roxie has had some potty accidents in her foster home but we believe she is mostly (if not fully) house trained and is just adjusting to a new environment. Roxie has been to the vet for a wellness check, is up to date on shots, spayed, fecal tested, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. She does need a dental which will be covered by the rescue at one of our vets. Puppies, dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral issues are only adoptable within a 1 hour drive to Pensacola. *We are a foster-based rescue and do not have a facility. Our dogs live in private homes in and around the Pensacola area until they are adopted. *To meet a dog or be considered for adoption you must first submit an adoption application for review.
