About Sophie

Hi, I'm Sophie! I'm a 2 to 3 year old Beagle mix and I weigh 31 pounds. I was pulled from our local shelter due to the fact I was completely traumatized, I was so fearful I couldn't even move. My foster mom knew I didn't stand a chance if I stayed behind. Even eye contact for me was so very difficult at first and it took a few days to decompress. My foster family is so proud of how far I've come and they just know I'm ready for the next chapter in my life. My ideal family would be more of a quite and laidback home, who has the heart for a rescue like myself. I need time to adjust and a gentle hand for lots of pets. I'm extremely loyal to my family and I open up a lot once I feel comfortable. I just need some patience and understanding�'�| but all rescue pups do, right? I get along great with other dogs but I haven't been around cats yet. I would need a home with no small kids at all, they scare me tremendously. I will bark, run for the bedroom and hide until they finally leave. I warm up to new people pretty easily. All it takes is sitting down and letting me come to you�'�|. Well that and maybe some yummy treats! A fenced in yard would be best for me, I do pretty well walking on leash but having a yard to play in is truly the best. You should see my sweet moves when I get the zoomies. Also with this cooler weather I have really enjoyed sunbathing while my foster siblings are outside with me. I'm doing pawsome with crate and I'm completely potty trained. I don't really need a crate I haven't made a mess or tore up any toys while I'm alone. Like I said I mainly just need a loving and laidback home.
