About Tweety Pie

(*Please note although Tweety Pie is located in Bakersfield we are able to drive her to her new home and do a homecheck if you are in Kern County, Tulare County, Fresno County, parts of Ventura County or the San Fernando Valley area of Los Angeles County as well as going to Paso Robles. Otherwise potential adopters would need to come to Bakersfield. All potential adopters will need to be available for a zoom call prior to adoption.* Meet Tweety Pie! This little girl has had a pretty rough life in her first 4 years but is still the sweetest, little kissy face ever! She weighs about 10 pounds and is a Maltipoo which is a Maltese and a Poodle making her hypoallergenic and non-shedding. She has a creamy white coat which we had to shave all the way down because of the condition she came to us in. The story we were told by the woman who gave her to us was that she found her and kept her for two weeks but could not locate the owner. We aren't sure if that is the true story because she also said that she was 4 years old. And she was used for breeding several times. When she came into rescue her fur was so matted that she developed some sores on her skin. She was most likely fed a really terrible diet so she had itchy skin as well. We had her groomed and had her hair cut all the way down, have her on a grain free, poultry free diet with added oils and she is doing much better. She is a great eater and not at all picky. So far she has not shown any interest in toys but she does love going for walks and loves to cuddle. We also think she was hit due to the fact that whenever you reach down to pet her she falls flat on her belly as if you are going to hit her. She never reacts, growls or bites. She is in a private foster home with large dogs and small as well as cats and takes all the activity in stride. She is especially fond of a senior female Shepherd that she likes to lay near. She will be available to go to her forever home after December 9th when she will be spayed. Prior to that she is available for pre-adoption. Her adoption fee includes: 1. Spay 2. Current vaccines including rabies 3. Microchip 4. Deworming 5. Starter food 6. Harness and leash Her adoption fee is $475. Tweety Pie is a 4 year old adult dog who has had a rough start to life. She is sweet and needs a loving, stable home so she can be the best canine citizen possible.. 2. Please make sure you are ready to adopt before coming to see our adoptable dogs. We are a foster based rescue and do not have the space to hold dogs for a couple of weeks while you vacation or make your way to California to come and adopt. We will adopt out of state but ONLY if the potential adopter comes here to adopt in person and that is after a screening by Skype/Zoom. WE DO NOT SHIP DOGS EVER. 3. We are often inundated with emails about our adoptable dogs and try as we might to make everyone happy it is nearly impossible with only one dog and sometimes up to 50 potential families. The more information you provide in your email to us the quicker we will get back to you. If you have written to us before about a particular dog and did not receive a response please do try again. We try to answer every email but it is not always possible. Every dog has different home requirements that we search for so sometimes you are the right fit for the dog we are trying to place. 4. PLEASE do NOT send more than one email. It slows down the process. 5. We do not make appointments for people to just come 'see' the dogs available.
