Meet Ms. Athena, goddess of wisdom, handicraft and warfare. Athena is doing her best to live up to her name. She exudes her wisdom and has proven to be a quick learner as she uses the dog door, sleeps through the night and is house and crate trained at just under a year old. As far as handicraft, she does love working with and chewing on her toys as any young dog does and has proven to be an expert silent squirrel watcher. She also discovered a love for sprinting around the yard in fresh snow. She is however leaving her warfare days from the streets of New Mexico behind and is patiently waiting for her forever home here in Colorado. Athena does like other dogs and cats but doesn't always appreciate the attention of larger dominant males. She does however immediately roll over for belly scratches anytime she meets a new human and is a perfect size at a petite 30 to 35 pounds. She has been known to climb shorter fences so would do best with at least a 6 foot fence. Athena does exhibit some resource guarding behavior with food around other dogs, so prefers to eat in the privacy of her kennel. Athena is available through From Forgotten to Forever Rescue and is located in Colorado Springs. If you are looking for a new family member who loves belly rubs and will guard your home from the neighborhood squirrels, you can apply to adopt Athena here. https://www.fromforgottentoforever.com/adoptionapplication/
