Kona is an amazing and loving two year old chocolate point Birman who came from a top US Breeder. He has an an extraordinary story. at 9 months old, in the middle of covid he was diagnosed with FIP (feline corona virus) and given 9 days to live. Through experimental medication developed at UCSF, he was saved by his determined owners using daily injections for more than 100 days. He is fully cured with the exception of some residual neurologic damage. Unfortunately, without twice daily wet food and a low stress environment he becomes fecal incontinent. With that method, he can go weeks or months without incident and will use the litterbox (although he is indoor/outdoor so it can be hard to track). Our often active/traveling family of 5, including infants, has created the need for Kona to find a more stable forever family. He is extremely sweet, gentile, loving and affectionate and deserves someone able to shower him with the love and attention he deserves. He loves kids, other cats and anyone with a warm lap. We flew out of state to get him and his cost was $2,800. We want to give him his best chance at adoption and with that, we will charge no fee for him - a loving home is all we need in return for him. We have a hard deadline of Jan 1 to find him a home as we will be leaving the country for an extended period of time. If you or someone you know is interested in Kona, please reach out at the number provided. Thank you.
