About Vernon

Adoption Fee: $100.00
Bluetick Coonhound mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Mr. Vernon is a 6 year old Hound mix who was surrendered to the shelter. It is reported he is a great dog. He is good with kids (prior adopter ran a daycare). He loves to snuggle and take naps with anyone who will lay with him. He is housebroken. He is good with smaller dogs but not good with cats. When he was younger he loved to chase rabbits. He is great walking on a leashl. A fenced in yard would be perfect for him unless you can walk him 5 or more miles a day - he loves to wander and sniff things so containment for him would be best. He is currently out to foster and here is what she has to say about him: Vernon is a great dog with lots of energy. We walk 4-5 miles a day and I think he would do more. He's loves to visit the local farm store and really seems to like the kids that work there. He's good with the grandkids. Can be stubborn but what can you expect from a hound. He barks a lot at home and has a strong prey drive. He hates bunnies and cats and squirrels. He's hard to control when he sees one. I'm not sure I'm the right fit for him long term but I will foster him till you find a good match. I love him but I'm not sure I can give him what he needs. His $100.00 adoption fee includes neuter, current shots, wormed and micro-chipped. To visit Vernon you would need to submit an application location on our website at www.patriotsforpets.com and once tentatively approved we can set up a time to meet him.
