Gemini is looking for her forever home! A 14 yr old project mare. TB X QH.(Running Quarterhorse) She has had much foundation work. And is greenbroke w/t/c. She longes, she takes cavaletti, and will even hop over low jumps. She bends and flexes and gives to the leg. She loads and rides in a trailer. Goes barefoot and stands for the farrier, she has wonderful easy care feet! She has been desensitized to wearing blankets, saddling, and general aspects of handling including tarps in the wind. She has not been desensitized to water yet. She dislikes water. She is current on all aspects of maintenance. Including all shots, teeth have been floated, toes trimmed, and recently dewormed. Gemini is a twin whose twin died at birth (hence the name). She is a nervous horse, a very easy keeper but hard to put weight on. She is friendly, affectionate, and LOVES to be scratched (anywhere please!) Good with other horses, she is affectionately called 'the snotty princess'. She is a small, petite horse, (14.3hh) narrow and thin, but NOT suitable for children, she needs an experienced rider, someone who wishes to bond to a horse, and get the best the horse has to give willingly. She needs a rider to bring her along safely. She is good in a stable environment. In the arena. But she can be very nervous and flighty outside or on the trail. (There's always a mountain lion, or a plastic bag, just ready to eat you, right around the corner somewhere!). She is visually very spooky which is why the barnyard/stableyard seems to be OK. She does ride out easily with or with out others. Has never been barn sour. But she does not feel safe while riding out, with or with out others. She will make the other horses nervous, they will not calm her down. She'd also make a beautiful lawn ornament. She is perfect in every way. Long gorgeous legs. A Blood bay with black stockings. She has a long full mane and tail. Add her Finely chiseled features to make for a porcelaine statue like look. Please contact the rescue for more info or to set up a meet and greet. No transportation is available so bring your own trailer please. Adopt fee is 1200$. Adoption Contract (just like the dogs) is required. Please email [email protected] or call or text 602-689-8506 for more info.
