About Ivy

Pit Bull mix
Age: Adult
Sex: Female

Not only is November #AdoptaSeniorPetMonth, but next week also marks Ivy's ONE YEAR SHELTER-VERSARY Ivy originally entered the shelter as a stray on 11/16/2021 after being found near Jackson Street Dog Park. She came in with some significant skin issues, but her coat looks AMAZING NOW compared when she first arrived! You can call Ivy 'vintage', you can call her 'experienced', but don't dare call her 'senior' ;) Ivy embraces the saying 'age is just a number' because it's hard to believe she's not just a young adult with her loving spirit and captivating energy. No day at the shelter is complete without running into Ivy being walked by one the members of her volunteer fan club :) She may have plenty of pep left in her step, but rest assured she loves spending time cuddling up with friends and showing off her tricks for affection (or treats, she's a definitive #Foodie). If you're looking for a sweet Ador-A-Bull dog to add to your family, don't stop your search until you meet Ivy... And even if you're not looking to adopt at the moment, you should still go visit Ivy on Wednesday, November 16th 2022, and send her some #GoodVibes for enduring so gracefully at a shelter for an entire year! National Adopt A Senior Pet Month is meant to highlight the often overlooked dogs at shelters, that are IN FACT much easier to transition back into home-life since they were once cherished family members and want nothing more than to continue that bond in a new FUREVER home. 'Senior dogs who get adopted from shelters just might be the most grateful dogs on the planet. And don't let their age fool you! It's amazing to see how much these dogs still have to offer and teach us.' -Laura Coffey: author of My Old Dog: Rescued Pets with Remarkable Second Acts. HI!
